The Pakistan cricket team’s squad for the upcoming tri-nation series in Pakistan is expected to be announced today.

According to sources, Sufiyan Muqeem, Abdullah Shafique, and Abbas Afridi are likely to be dropped from the squad, while Saim Ayub is still not fully fit.

It is expected that Saud Shakeel, Fakhar Zaman, Aamer Jamal, and Khushdil Shah will be included in the team for the series.

Reports indicate that the 15-member squad will include Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Kamran Ghulam, Tayyab Tahir, Usman Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Salman Ali Agha, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, and Abrar Ahmed.

According to media reports, the selection committee completed initial consultations during the Test series against the West Indies. However, the final approval from PCB Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, is expected before the squad is officially announced.

Sources suggest that the squad selected for the tri-nation series, which begins on February 8, will represent Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy as well.

Under ICC regulations, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is authorized to announce the final squad by February 11. Any changes to the squad after that date will require approval from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
