The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, met with Lawson Naidoo, Chairman of Cricket South Africa (CSA), and Roger Twose, Chairman of New Zealand Cricket (NZC), ahead of the ICC meeting in Dubai.
The primary focus of the discussion was the organization of an ODI tri-series involving Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa, slated for February 2025 in Pakistan, just preceding the ICC Champions Trophy.
Following thorough deliberation, the tri-series was formally agreed upon and warmly embraced by the host country and the participating member boards. Chairman PCB also extended an invitation to Roger Twose and Lawson Naidoo to visit Pakistan.

Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event, highlighting it as a significant occasion for Pakistan to host such a tournament after a considerable hiatus.
He expressed gratitude towards the heads of NZC and CSA for their commitment to partake in the Tri-series. Chairman Naqvi also expressed eagerness about hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, emphasizing the honor Pakistan feels in welcoming the top eight ODI teams to its soil for the prestigious event.
“The tri-series between Pakistan, South Africa and New Zealand will be an exciting event and it is after a long time that Pakistan will host such a tournament. I would like to thank the heads of NZC and CSA for agreeing to participate in the Tri-series. The PCB is also looking forward to hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 which will be a great pleasure for Pakistan to host the top eight ODI teams on its soil,” Naqvi said.
