The Pakistan women’s cricket team has officially qualified for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup, set to be hosted by India later this year.

In the World Cup Qualifier event, Pakistan sealed their fourth consecutive victory by defeating Thailand, thus booking their place in the mega tournament.

Batting first, Pakistan scored 205 runs for the loss of six wickets. In reply, the Thailand side was bowled out for just 118 runs, unable to counter the strong Pakistani bowling attack.

The match, held in Lahore, saw Pakistan in early trouble at 47 for 3. However, opener Sidra Ameen anchored the innings with a brilliant 80-run knock. Captain Fatima Sana also played a vital role, remaining unbeaten on 62 to help her side post a competitive total. Muneeba Ali added 18 runs, while Sidra Nawaz chipped in with 11.

Chasing a target of 206, Thailand’s batting line-up collapsed under pressure, with wickets falling at regular intervals. No batter managed to withstand the disciplined Pakistani bowling, and the entire team was dismissed for 118.

Head coach Mohammad Wasim expressed his hopes after the win, stating, “Our goal is to reach the final of the World Cup and bring the trophy home.”
