Former Scotland cricketer of Pakistani descent Majid Haq has tested positive for COVID-19 (novel coronavirus).

The former off-spinner, in a tweet, announced that he is recovering from the aforementioned virus and thanked everyone for supporting him in this difficult time.

‘‘Looking forward to potentially getting back home today after testing positive with Coronavirus. Staff at the RAH in Paisley have been good to me & thank you to everyone who has sent me messages of support. Insha Allah the Panther will be back to full health soon,’’ Haq tweeted.

Haq represented Scotland in 54 One-day Internationals (ODIs) and 24 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) between 2006 and 2015.
