Miandad expressed his disappointment with India's behavior, particularly calling out Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Former Pakistan cricketer, Javed Miandad, expressed his disappointment with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for their refusal to travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup.
Miandad also went on to suggest that Pakistan should reciprocate by refusing to travel to India for the 2023 World Cup. He passionately defended Pakistan's cricketing prowess and argued that their cricket is superior to that of India.
“If it was up to me I would simply refuse. It is India’s turn right now. We went there and now India are supposed to come and play cricket in Pakistan,” Miandad said while talking media in Karachi.
“If it was me, I would say get lost. We are better than them. Our cricket is better than them. We have enough money and grounds. We are producing talents that are making their name in the entire world,” he added.
The former cricketer highlighted the significance of sports in building relationships between countries, emphasizing the unifying power it possesses. Miandad expressed his disappointment with India's behavior, particularly calling out Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Sports is something that unites people. It is used to build relations between two countries,” he said.
“India’s behaviour is not acceptable. Especially, [Narendra] Modi, the day will come when their own people will beat him because he is going in a different direction. You cannot change your neighbours” he concluded.
