Pakistan’s likely playing XI for Super 4 clash against India

Pakistan is gearing up for their second Super 4 clash in Asia Cup against their traditional rivals, India, scheduled for Sunday in Colombo

The Men in Green are likely to go with the same playing XI, which registered a seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in Lahore on Wednesday.

Pakistan replaced Mohammad Nawaz with Faheem Ashraf in the last game, and the all-rounder bowled well, conceding 27 runs in seven overs, while picking the important wicket of Shakib Al Hasan, who was looking in ominous form and was building an important partnership with Mushfiqur Rahim.

In contrast, Mohammad Nawaz had struggled with his bowling in the earlier Group A match against India in the tournament, which could be a contributing factor in his expected absence from the upcoming game.

With overcast conditions and rain expected during the clash, Pakistan is likely to go with four pacers, with Faheem playing supporting role to Pakistan’s pace trio of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf.
