The Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will go as planned, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed.

There have been reports that the series is in danger after Sri Lanka's Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe declared a 'state of emergency' following President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's exit from the country.

"Despite the imposition of emergency in Sri Lanka, the series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will go ahead as planned," PCB Media Director Samiul Hassan Burney told this correspondent.

Sami added that the cricket board is in constant touch with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) while they are also discussing the situation with Pakistan High Commissioner in Sri Lanka.

Pakistan squad is currently playing a three-day warm-up match in Colombo amid protests. As per PCB's spokesperson, the side will leave for Galle tomorrow at 11 am for the first Test, starting from July 16.
