Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi has taken a significant decision of upgrading Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, National Stadium Karachi, and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

In a PCB meeting on Friday, briefing was given to the authorities of National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) regarding the upgrade of stadiums in the meeting. Director Infrastructure PCB, authorities of NESPAK, and relevant officials attended the meeting.

PCB chief has requested a plan for the upgrade of respective cricket stadiums and has assured that the stadiums will be timely upgraded before Champions Trophy. 

"The upgrade of all three stadiums will be completed before the Champions Trophy," Naqvi said.

Naqvi also requested the final design plan for the upgrade of Gaddafi Stadium within 3 days and outlined a phased approach to other stadium upgrades.

"In the second phase, the design plan for the upgrade of National Cricket Stadium Karachi and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will be prepared and work will commence," he further added.

Naqvi underscored a focus on enhancing spectator experiences including expanded seating arrangements for greater comfort and accessibility.

"Facilities for cricket fans will be improved in stadiums. According to the need, seating capacity will be increased in stadiums," Naqvi said.

"Facilities in the boxes of Gaddafi Stadium will be improved. The upgrade work will be completed with quality and speed," he concluded.
