The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Hina Munawar as the first-ever female operations manager for the national men’s cricket team.

According to reports, Hina Munawar, an experienced police officer with a strong background in operations and security, has been appointed ahead of the upcoming Champions Trophy. Hina, who previously served in the Frontier Constabulary in Swat, will manage the team during the Champions Trophy and the tri-series involving Pakistan, both of it will begin in Karachi.

Hina Munawar has had a distinguished career in law enforcement, having successfully passed the Civil Superior Services (CSS) examination. She has held various roles in security and law enforcement, contributing to her vast experience.

In addition to her new role with the national men’s cricket team, Hina was also appointed the manager for the Pakistan Women’s Under-19 squad during the Asia Cup. 

As a serving officer in the Pakistan Police Service, it is understood that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi brought Hina into the board on deputation for this new position. 

In her role as operations manager, Hina Munawar will oversee the team’s operations during both the Champions Trophy and the Tri-Nation Series. Her responsibilities will include improving communication between the players and the board, as well as enhancing the operational structure of the team.

Veteran bureaucrat Naveed Akram Cheema will continue as the official team manager, while Hina Munawar will focus on streamlining internal operations for the men’s team.
