Tony Hemming has been named the new head curator under a two-year contract, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced today. The Western Australian will arrive in Lahore on Wednesday to begin his duties.

One of Hemming's first tasks will be to prepare pitches for the upcoming five ICC World Test Championship matches against Bangladesh (two in August/September) and England (three in October).

Additionally, Hemming will oversee pitch preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which Pakistan will host from 19 February to 9 March.

Hemming is a highly respected curator with nearly four decades of experience. He has worked at several iconic cricket grounds in Australia, including Melbourne, Perth, and Tasmania, as well as in countries such as Bangladesh, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, where he served as the ICC's Head Curator from 2007 to 2017 in Dubai.

During his tenure with the ICC, Hemming also supervised pitch preparation at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, one of Pakistan's home venues between 2009 and 2019.

Bangladesh will face Pakistan in two Tests, with matches scheduled in Rawalpindi from 21st to 25th August and in Karachi from 30th August to 3rd September.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh Test schedule:

  • 21-25 Aug – First Test, Rawalpindi
  • 30 Aug -3 Sep – Second Test, Karachi

Pakistan vs England Test schedule:

  • 7-11 October 2024 – First Test, Multan
  • 15-19 October 2024 – Second Test, Karachi
  • 24-28 October 2024 – Third Test, Rawalpindi
