Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has reacted after Pakistan's disappointing defeat to Bangladesh in the first Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

This marks Bangladesh's historic first-ever Test victory against Pakistan, adding to the shockwaves felt by cricket enthusiasts across the nation.

Naqvi took to the social media platform 'X' to congratulate the Bangladesh team on their commendable achievement.

"Bangladesh Cricket Team has played wonderfully, and have held their ground throughout the match. It is a historic win for they have one against Pakistan for the first time. Heartiest Congratulations to them!" Naqvi posted.

While applauding Bangladesh, the PCB chief also acknowledged Pakistan's underwhelming performance.

"Unfortunately, Pakistan Cricket Team could not perform as well as it should have. InshaAllah the men in green would make a comeback in the upcoming match!" he added.

Bangladesh chased down a modest target of 30 runs with ease, as openers Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam steered their team to victory in just 6.3 overs without losing a wicket.

Pakistan, which began the day at 65 for 2, struggled to withstand Bangladesh’s spinners, ultimately losing their last eight wickets for a mere 81 runs. The collapse was initiated by the early dismissal of Babar Azam, who was out for 22. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan played pivotal roles in dismantling Pakistan’s batting lineup, taking four and three wickets respectively.

Despite a resilient 51 from Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan was bowled out for just 146, paving the way for Bangladesh to secure their historic win.
