PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi took swift action regarding the accommodation arrangements for the Pakistan cricket team in New York.

Sources revealed that Naqvi's intervention led to a change in the team's hotel. Dissatisfied with the initial hotel, Naqvi contacted the ICC and persuaded the event organizers to relocate the team to a more convenient location.

The original hotel was a 90-minute drive from the stadium, whereas the newly assigned hotel is just a five-minute drive away.

Naqvi communicated to the ICC that he would not permit his team to endure long commutes for their T20 World Cup matches, including those scheduled for June 9 and 11 in New York.

Naqvi emphasized to the ICC that if the hotel was not changed, he would ensure the team’s comfort by relocating them at the PCB’s expense.

It must be noted that while the Indian team was accommodated merely 10 minutes from the ground, other teams, including South Africa and Sri Lanka, had raised concerns about their lodging, which was over an hour away from the stadium.

The Pakistan cricket team is set to depart for New York immediately after their match against the USA on Thursday. They will face India on June 9, Canada on June 11, and their final first-round match will be against Ireland on June 16.
