The search for a new chief executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in full swing with the former managing director of Zimbabwe Cricket, Faisal Hasnain, also among the candidates.

According to sources, PCB has received a large number of applications and Faisal is also among them. He worked as ICC's Chief Financial Officer from 2002 to 2008. He is currently working as sports, finance and management consultant in the UAE. He is also a tribunal member of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITFF). He holds dual Pakistani and British citizenship as well.

Some political leaders are also trying to get one of their "friends" to fit in the PCB.

Remember, PCB had advertised the position after Wasim Khan stepped down from the role. The last date for submission of applications was October 27.

There has been no need for this position after Ramiz Raja took the charge of helm but according to PCB's constitution, it's necessary to have a chief executive.

Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer is currently holding the additional charge of chief executive.
