PCB director accused of assaulting a fellow colleague

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director has been accused of assaulting a colleague and the matter now is with the Disciplinary Commission.

According to the details, an unfortunate incident happened in the premises of the PCB headquarters and there is also a piece of evidence in the form of CCTV footage. 

As per sources, the relations between the Director of Media and Communication, Sami ul Hasan Burney and the Director of Commercial, Usman Waheed, were not ideal from the beginning.

In the past few days, there was a bitter conversation between the two and harsh words were exchanged where a director's language was not worthy of his position.

Later, when confronted in the corridor, Sami allegedly pushed Usman and tried to assault him, on which he defended himself. Sources said that other officials present on the spot calmed down the matter. 

Director of Commercial reported the incident and submitted a written complaint. He wrote that the Director of Media also tried attacking him using offensive words. The matter is handed over to the Disciplinary Commission and a meeting has already been held.

A decision will be taken after hearing the stand of both parties and seeing the evidence. The sources further said that some quarters, including a senior PCB officer (not the chairman), are pressuring Usman Waheed to withdraw his complaint but he is not ready for it, he did not even accept the offer of unconditional forgiveness.

Sources further said that the Director of Commercial is also looking into the matter, in this regard he also wants to file an FIR against Sami in the police, but the board itself has restrained him from taking extreme measures by assuring him of justice. 

In order to know the position, in this regard, the correspondent contacted Chairman PCB Ramiz Raja, CEO Faisal Hasnain, COO Salman Naseer and Director Commercial Usman Waheed, but despite the passage of more than 24 hours, no one responded. 

A message was also sent to Media Director Sami ul Hasan Burney that since there is a case against him, if he does not think it is appropriate to stand up himself, then he should refer to someone else in the board, but he also remained silent.
