The details of the Cricket Committee are still available on PCB's website
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has quietly dissolved the high-profile Cricket Committee, headed by Saleem Yousuf, without any formal announcement.
As per PCB's spokesperson, the committee was abolished a year ago with the governing board's approval; however, the details were still available on the cricket board's website until this afternoon but after the identification by this correspondent, the details have been removed.
Sources say that it was made to seal the decisions, but the new chairman Ramiz Raja did not consider its use necessary. The governing board is also being used to approve the matters he likes.
According to details, PCB formed a committee in 2018 headed by Mohsin Hasan Khan. Wasim Akram and Misbah-ul-Haq were also among the members. Their task was to give opinions on cricketing matters.
There have been talks on the inclusion of Mohsin Hasan and Wasim Akram, as the former opener had been making harsh statements about him. After only three meetings in eight months, Mohsin stepped down.
Board officials were unhappy with some of his statements, then PCB chairman Ehsan Mani appointed CEO Wasim Khan as the committee head, later Misbah became the head coach after the Cricket Committee recommended the removal of Mickey Arthur.
After the team's disappointing tour of New Zealand in January 2021, coaches Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis were also invited. They supported them and also asked them to keep an eye on South Africa's performance in the series.
A few months later, both of them resigned on their own. They thought the nominated chairman Ramiz Raja would fire both after assuming office. After that, there was silence regarding the cricket committee. It was deemed appropriate to use a stamp, although it was never officially announced that the Cricket Committee had been abolished.
