Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and franchises will meet on Wednesday to finalise the details regarding the proposed schedule for the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six.

The board had presented two proposed schedules to the franchises during the last meeting. One option was to hold two matches every day while the other option includes solitary matches on weekdays and double-headers on Saturday and Sunday. Now the franchises will come up with their recommendations in the aforementioned meeting after deliberating over the matter.

According to sources, one franchise had previously complained about their matches taking place during the day frequently. Now another franchise has shown reservations regarding the time of their matches. Franchises offer a united front when talking about the financial model of the league. However, every franchise is concerned about their own benefit as far as the schedule is concerned. Hence, the board is finding it difficult to zero in on the schedule, which will be agreed upon by each franchise.

The PSL 6 was postponed on March 4, due to multiple Covid-19 cases among players and support staff, with 20 matches remaining. The PCB has already announced that Karachi will host the remainder of matches in the month of June, with final the on the 20th of the same month. However, there was also a suggestion about holding the matches towards the end of May despite clash with the Indian Premier League (IPL). Now, the franchises are ready to hold the matches during the May window as well.

The final decision regarding the schedule will be made after taking into account the bio-secure bubble, availability of foreign players and the hotel.
