The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officially inducted former captains Inzamam-ul-Haq and Misbah-ul-Haq into the Hall of Fame on Saturday, recognising their outstanding contributions to Pakistan’s national men’s cricket team.

The two legendary cricketers were presented with commemorative caps and plaques by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi during the first match of the tri-nation ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand at the Gaddafi Stadium. Both Inzamam and Misbah proudly walked around the stadium wearing their commemorative caps, receiving a warm round of applause from the enthusiastic spectators.

Inzamam and Misbah were part of the PCB Hall of Fame Class of 2024, along with Saeed Anwar and Mushtaq Ahmed, who are yet to be formally inducted into the prestigious list. The Hall of Fame honours the remarkable contributions of Pakistan's cricketing legends.

Established to celebrate the achievements of cricketing icons, the PCB Hall of Fame already includes legends such as Abdul Qadir, A.H. Kardar, Fazal Mahmood, Hanif Mohammad, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Younis Khan, and Zaheer Abbas.

Inzamam-ul-Haq, who is Pakistan's highest run-scorer in One Day Internationals (ODIs) with 11,739 runs, expressed his deep gratitude for the recognition. He is also Pakistan’s third-highest run-scorer in Test cricket, with 8,830 runs to his name.

“I am deeply honoured to be inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame, joining a group of remarkable cricketers from my generation and those before me. To be recognised by the parent organisation of Pakistan cricket is truly special, and I hope this initiative continues to inspire current and future generations of cricketers,” Inzamam said.

Misbah-ul-Haq, one of Pakistan's most respected captains, was equally honoured. Misbah, who led Pakistan to the top of the ICC Men’s Test Team Rankings in 2016, described the recognition as "humbling."

"I am deeply honoured and humbled to be inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame, joining a distinguished group of Pakistan’s finest cricketers who have not only excelled in the game but have also elevated the country’s image on the global stage," Misbah said.

The induction of Inzamam and Misbah into the PCB Hall of Fame is a well-deserved recognition of their immense contributions to Pakistan cricket.
