This move aims to encourage young fans to experience live cricket action
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that students will receive free entry to the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh, set to be held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from August 30 to September 3. This move aims to encourage young fans to experience live cricket action.
To gain entry, students must wear their school uniforms and present their educational institution ID cards. They will have access to seats in the VIP enclosures, including Imran Khan and Javed Miandad (subject to availability), as well as the premium enclosures like Miran Baksh, Shoaib Akhtar, Sohail Tanvir, and Yasir Arafat.
This decision follows a similar initiative during the first Test match, where fans were offered free entry on the fourth and fifth days. Bangladesh currently leads the two-match Test series 1-0 after securing a 10-wicket victory in the first match. The series is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25.
The free entry offer for students does not extend to the PCB Gallery or the Platinum Box. For other fans, tickets for the second Test can be purchased online at PCB.tcs.com.pk or from physical ticket booths at Aviation Ground, Rawal Road, and designated TCS express centers. Premium enclosure tickets are priced at PKR 200, while VIP enclosure tickets cost PKR 500 on weekdays and PKR 600 on weekends.
For those looking for a more premium experience, the Gallery pass, which includes lunch and tea, is available for PKR 2,800, while the Platinum Box, also with lunch and tea, is priced at PKR 12,500. A full hospitality box can be reserved for PKR 200,000.
Additionally, like during the first Test, a free shuttle bus service will be available on matchdays, running on two routes to make it easier for fans to access the stadium. The first route will run from Aviation Ground, Rawal Road, to the Allama Iqbal Park Entrance Gate, while the second route will go from Government Satellite Town College for Boys, 6th Road, to the same entrance gate.
This initiative by the PCB is expected to draw a larger crowd and provide an exciting atmosphere for the Test match.
