In a working group meeting held in Lahore on Saturday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) proposed dates for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) that coincide with the Indian Premier League (IPL), drawing objections from several franchises.

The meeting, which took place with the participation of COO Salman Naseer, senior PCB officials, team owners, and other officials (some joining remotely via Zoom call), presented the suggested dates from early April to mid-May. However, many team owners raised concerns about the proposed schedule.

Franchises worry that holding the PSL concurrently with the IPL could hinder their ability to attract top foreign cricketers. The overlap may lead to conflicts with players’ commitments, reducing the league's appeal and competitiveness.

During the meeting, other critical issues were also discussed. The working group will present its recommendations to the PSL Governing Council, which is set to meet under the chairmanship of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in a few days.
