BCCI secretary Jay Shah, who is also the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), stated India will not travel to Pakistan next year to play in the Asia Cup.

After the Annual General Meeting of the BCCI in Mumbai on Tuesday (October 18), they arrived at a conclusion that they will not travel to Pakistan for the continental championship and demanded to move the tournament to a neutral venue.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refused to comment on Jay Shah's statement. As per sources, the decisions regarding the hosting of the Asia Cup are at the discretion of the board of the ACC. No meeting has been held yet, Shah is the BCCI secretary, not ACC, so his words are irrelevant.

Meanwhile, there may be a question mark on the departure of the Pakistani team to India for the World Cup next year.

In 2016, when the Pakistani team visited India for the ICC T20 World Cup, the government of Pakistan allowed the team to participate. For next year's world cup. their participation will again be subjected to the government's permission.

The World Cup is scheduled to be held in India on the same dates next year. This will also be the first time all the matches are being played on Indian soil. Previously, the World Cup played in 1987, 1996 and 2011 was also played at other venues. The start of the World Cup is only twelve months away and at this time the relationship between the two governments is also strained with increasing political tension.

Due to India's visa problems for Pakistan, the trade between the two countries is also closed, only medicines are being sent to Pakistan from India only as a humanitarian act.
