The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed new details about the naming rights and media coverage for the upcoming Champions Cup. The board announced that three of the five teams in the tournament have secured naming rights through commercial partners.
Nurpur has acquired the naming rights for the Lions, which will now be known as the Nurpur Lions. Allied Bank has secured the rights for the Stallions, rebranding them as the Allied Bank Stallions. The University of Management and Technology (UMT) will sponsor the Wolves, which will now be called the UMT Markhors.
The PCB is still in discussions with potential sponsors for the naming rights of the remaining two teams, the Dolphins and the Panthers, and will provide updates on these sponsors soon.
In addition to the team naming rights, the PCB has announced media partnerships for the tournament. ARY will be the media partner for the Stallions, Dunya News for the Panthers, GEO News for the Dolphins, HUM News for the Markhors, and Samaa TV for the Lions.
To enhance coverage of the Champions One-Day Cup, which runs from September 12 to 29, the PCB will provide live feeds to local sports channels, including PTV Sports, A Sports HD, and GEO Super. The matches will also be live-streamed in Pakistan on Tamasha, Tapmad, and myco, with viewers in North America able to watch on Willow TV.
The commentary panel for the tournament will feature Ali Younis, Marina Iqbal, Salman Butt, Shah Faisal, and Sikandar Bakht, with Meesha Imran as the presenter.
