The Bangladesh squad is expected to arrive in Pakistan on May 21 and will train at Iqbal Stadium from May 22 to 24
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming five-match T20I series between Pakistan and Bangladesh, set to be played from May 25 to June 3 across Faisalabad and Lahore.
This series was originally planned to include three ODIs and three T20Is as part of the Future Tours Programme (FTP). However, with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup approaching next year, both cricket boards agreed to replace the ODIs with two more T20Is to help their teams prepare better for the global event.
The series will begin in Faisalabad, where the first two matches will be held at Iqbal Stadium on May 25 and 27. This marks a major return for the historic ground, which will host international cricket after 17 years. Its last international match was an ODI between Pakistan and Bangladesh in April 2008. From 1978 to 2008, Iqbal Stadium hosted 24 Test matches and 16 ODIs.
The final three T20Is will be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on May 30, June 1, and June 3. All five matches are scheduled to start at 8:00 PM local time.
The Bangladesh squad is expected to arrive in Pakistan on May 21 and will train at Iqbal Stadium from May 22 to 24.
Pakistan has a strong record against Bangladesh in T20 internationals. Out of 19 matches played between the two teams, Pakistan has won 16, while Bangladesh has managed just three victories. Their last meeting was during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Adelaide.
