The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the appointment of a consultant in sports medicine, a proactive measure aimed at addressing the ongoing challenges related to the diagnosis and treatment of players’ injuries at both international and domestic levels.

This newly appointed consultant will be instrumental in the swift diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of players’ fitness issues, thereby elevating the standard of care provided to our athletes.

To facilitate this process, the PCB has already commenced the search for a qualified consultant, releasing an advertisement detailing the position’s requirements. The consultant will collaborate closely with national and domestic physiotherapists and trainers to ensure a unified approach to maintaining player fitness.

Candidates seeking this vital role must possess an MBBS degree, at least 10 years of relevant experience, a thorough understanding of sports culture, and effective decision-making capabilities. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications by October 10.

This appointment is particularly timely as the PCB has been functioning without a Director of Medical following Dr. Sohail Saleem's resignation. The introduction of a sports medicine consultant aims to fill this critical void, establishing a robust support system for the health and fitness of Pakistan’s cricketers.
