The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced plans to conduct fitness tests of Pakistan cricketers ahead of the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.

According to a media report, the Test squad players are expected to be summoned on August 9, with the fitness tests scheduled for August 10. However, some players may undergo their fitness assessments earlier, depending on availability.

In addition to the Test squad, centrally contracted players who are available will also be called for fitness tests. The announcement of central contracts has been delayed as they are now contingent upon the players meeting specific fitness criteria.

According to sources, national cricketers will undergo five to six different fitness tests, with their fitness levels being assessed according to international standards.

Furthermore, it has been reported that some Test squad members will participate in the first four-day match against Bangladesh A. Fast bowlers Naseem Shah and Mir Hamza are among those likely to be included in the playing XI.

It is worth noting that Bangladesh is scheduled to travel to Pakistan on August 17th for a two-match Test series, which is part of the ICC Test Championship. The matches will take place in Rawalpindi from August 21-25 and Karachi from August 30 to September 3.
