Peshawar Zalmi on Friday confirmed a player change in their squad for the ongoing 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

England fast bowler Luke Wood has officially replaced South Africa’s George Linde in the team. Linde has returned home due to personal family matters.

Interestingly, Wood was initially named as a backup for Nahid Rana. However, he will now take the place of Linde in the squad.

Earlier in the tournament, George Linde joined Peshawar Zalmi as a replacement for Corbin Bosch. Bosch withdrew from the PSL to join the Mumbai Indians for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Peshawar Zalmi secured a crucial six-wicket victory over Islamabad United at Gaddafi Stadium on Friday in PSL 10.

Chasing a target of 144, Zalmi got off to a shaky start, losing three quick wickets. However, debutant Maaz Sadaqat (55 off 33) and captain Babar Azam (53* off 49) steadied the chase with a 102-run partnership, leading Zalmi to victory in the 17th over.

Earlier, Islamabad United, after opting to bat first, posted a modest 143-9. Their openers put up 58 runs, but a collapse followed. Ben Dwarshuis scored with 33* in the end as Zalmi’s bowlers restricted them effectively.

The win was Zalmi's third of the season, while United suffered their second defeat.

Led by Babar Azam, Zalmi sit fifth on the points table with three wins and four losses from seven matches.
