Pakistan’s pace spearhead Wahab Riaz, in a Youtube video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday, was hopeful that the Men in Green would be successful in the upcoming series against Australia.

The fast-bowler realised that the series would be tough but claimed a win would significantly boost the confidence of the team.

“Obviously it’s going to be a tough series. This will be a very good series. It will be a big confidence booster for us, if we win. As a team we would like to win here,” said Wahab.

The 34-year-old believed that the series provide everyone an opportunity and revealed that the key to a successful tour would be playing attacking cricket.

“Everyone has an opportunity now. We have recently been playing very good Twenty20 (T20) cricket. We have a chance again to play in Australia and I think if we play attacking cricket than we will be successful,” he said.

Wahab was particularly excited about the bowling attack which he believed comprised of a very good mix of youth and experience.

“If we talk about the bowling attack, fast-bowling in particular, there is a very good mix and match of experience and youth so I think this is an opportunity for all of us to deliver a win for Pakistan,” he said.

The fast-bowler praised the efforts of head coach-cum-chief selector Misbahul Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis while acknowledging that the duo kept the team on their toes.

“It is a very good thing that we have experienced players to help us as coaches. So obviously we get to learn a lot. The good thing is that both of them [Misbah and Waqar] are very positive and they keep all of us very positive and on our toes,” he concluded.
