The players are eager to compete against the Australian team at home as Pakistan play ODI after a gap of almost eight months.

The Men in Green last played an ODI series in July 2021 against England, where they were whitewashed 3-0 by the home team.

Australian team is on the tour of Pakistan after 24 years for three Tests, three ODIs and one T20I. The Aussies won the Test series 1-0, and the ODIs will start from today at Gaddafi Stadium.

In a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board, the players practised hard for the preparations and are confident of winning the series.

“We will be playing ODI cricket after a while; we are excited to play against a tough opponent like Australia. We have some talented players and will try our best to win the series,” says Imam-ul-Haq.

“We have practised hard. Our batting, bowling, fielding is covered. The boys are putting in a lot of effort.” said Iftikhar Ahmed

“We have been practising for the past two days and are fully prepared for the series,” Saud Shakeel expressed

Meanwhile, players appreciated the crowd support and requested that they keep cheering in the same way for the remaining games.

“ We will enjoy playing in front of our home crowd a lot,” Iftikhar added.

“The way they supported us during the Tests and showed up in big numbers even on weekdays was overwhelming; I would request the crowds for the same kind of support in the coming matches.” Imam opined.

“Fans have been amazing throughout the series, and we expect them to keep supporting us in the same way. We will try our best to give them quality cricket matches,” Saud Shakeel said.
