The Australian cricket team is touring Pakistan after twenty-four years. Available players of the Test squad are training hard for the series, camp is underway in Karachi and different scenario-based matches are being played with different targets for batsmen and bowlers.

Scenario-based matches help players to train for specific situations. For instance, top-order players will be given scenarios which they would face while opening the batting while the lower-order will be asked to play more aggressively and so on.

Some common scenarios are as follows:

For openers, scoring 55 runs in the first 10 overs. The target for the middle-order is often to score 150 runs without losing more than two wickets. Switching to the bowlers' side; the bowlers are expected to defend a target - for instance, saving 70 runs in the last 10 overs.

The scenarios are changed every now and then to prepare players and bring them back to match fitness and more importantly, help them assess things better and get into the match mindset.

Each scenario match at the training camp in National Stadium Karachi is of 45 overs and players focus on achieving the target.

The first Test between both teams will be played at Rawalpindi on March 4.

It is worth mentioning that the training camp has now also been joined by captain Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Naseem Shah after Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators failed to make it to HBL PSL playoffs.

Other players will be joining the camp after the conclusion of the marquee domestic league tournament.
