Bangladesh secured their first victory in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating Sri Lanka in a nail-biting match on Saturday, winning by two wickets.
This win places Bangladesh in third position on the points table.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka finds themselves at the bottom of Group D, having lost both of their matches so far. They will have an opportunity to turn their fortunes around in their next game against Nepal on June 11.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the super eights, which will feature 12 games, before the top two from each super eight group will qualify for the semi-finals. The final will be played in Barbados on June 29.
