The ICC has announced a record-breaking prize pool for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, with winners set to receive at least $2.45 million USD from the overall $11.25 million pot. Runners-up will earn at least $1.28 million, while each participating team is guaranteed a minimum of $225,000.
The ninth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will take place across nine venues in the West Indies and the USA, culminating with the final at Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 29. This year’s tournament is the largest in T20 World Cup history, featuring 20 teams and 55 matches over 28 days.
Prize Distribution Breakdown:
The tournament will start with 40 first-round matches, with the top eight teams progressing to the Super 8s. Four teams will then advance to the semi-finals, which will be held in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.
ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice expressed excitement about the upcoming event, stating, “This event is historic in so many ways so it is fitting that the prize money for players reflects that. Hundreds of millions of fans around the world will be entertained by the players in what we’re hoping to be an Out of This World event.”
