The 25-year-old cricketer shared the news on his Instagram story
Afghanistan’s fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has announced that he will not be participating in the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is set to take place between April and May this year.
The 25-year-old cricketer shared the news on his Instagram story, posting a photo with his Peshawar Zalmi teammate Mohammad Haris from last season.
“Wonderful last season with [Peshawar Zalmi]. Won’t be taking part in this year’s [PSL]. Until next time, thanks for all the love and support,” Naveen wrote.
Naveen was among the 44 international players listed in the platinum category for the PSL 10 draft. Having played in two PSL seasons—first with Quetta Gladiators in 2023 and then with Peshawar Zalmi in 2024—Naveen picked up 13 wickets in 10 matches, with an average of 28.53 and a best performance of 2/22.
The PSL 10 draft is scheduled to take place at Huzuri Bagh in Lahore on Monday, where franchises will finalize their squads. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made changes to the player categories this year, merging the three Platinum categories into two and reducing the number of Diamond, Gold, and Silver categories.
Lahore Qalandars have the first pick in the Platinum 1 category, followed by Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Islamabad United. For Platinum 2, Quetta Gladiators will pick first.
