Nawaz hit his maiden PSL century with an unbeaten 100 off 45 balls, including 4 fours and 9 sixes
Quetta Gladiators’ rising star Hasan Nawaz has joined an elite group in Pakistan cricket history after scoring centuries in both the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and T20 Internationals (T20Is) in the same calendar year.
The 22-year-old middle-order batter delivered a stunning performance on Wednesday during Quetta Gladiators' PSL 10 clash against Islamabad United at the Pindi Cricket Stadium. Nawaz smashed his maiden PSL century — an unbeaten 100 off just 45 balls — laced with four boundaries and nine massive sixes. His explosive innings powered Quetta to a record-breaking total of 263/3, the highest team score in PSL history.
Earlier this year, Nawaz made a dream start to his international career with Pakistan, scoring a brilliant 105 not out from 45 balls against New Zealand in a T20I match. That knock featured 10 fours and seven sixes and earned him the Player of the Match award in a winning cause.
Both of Nawaz’s centuries — one in the PSL and the other in international cricket — contributed to victories for his teams, highlighting his ability to perform under pressure.
With this rare feat, Hasan Nawaz becomes only the second Pakistani batter to achieve the milestone of scoring a century in both PSL and T20I cricket within the same year. He now joins former national captain Babar Azam in this exclusive club.
Babar reached this milestone in 2023, scoring 115 for Peshawar Zalmi in a PSL match against Quetta Gladiators and later recording a century in a T20I against New Zealand. Unlike Nawaz, however, Babar's PSL century came in a losing effort.
