Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan has shared his thoughts on the heated argument between Islamabad United’s Colin Munro and Iftikhar Ahmed during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 match played on April 23 at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

The incident occurred during the 10th over of Islamabad’s run chase. Colin Munro appeared upset with Iftikhar Ahmed’s bowling action and gestured in a way that led to a tense exchange between the two players. Rizwan later stepped in and got involved in the discussion.

Speaking to the media after the game, Rizwan said the matter is in the hands of match officials.

“It was discussed, and it’s up to the umpire and referee to take note of it and decide what action to take,” he said.

Rizwan also spoke about his team’s overall performance in the tournament so far. The Multan Sultans skipper admitted that the side has made mistakes but remained hopeful about improving in the upcoming matches.

“Things get difficult when we lose, but we will work hard to fix our errors,” he added.

One of Rizwan’s main concerns was the team’s fielding. He pointed out that missed chances can cost games, especially in a competitive league like the PSL.

“We can’t afford to give batters extra chances. Players like Shai Hope and Aqif Javed were unwell, which affected our team balance. We also have to give opportunities to young, emerging players,” he explained.

When asked about Multan Sultans’ current position on the points table, Rizwan said the team is not overly worried.

“We are not focused on the points table. Our goal is to play good cricket and perform well in the matches ahead,” he said.

Rizwan also talked about his personal form and batting strike rate.

“My strike rate has been good, but I don’t focus on that. I play according to the team’s needs and the pitch conditions. Sometimes, we have to make decisions based on the surface,” he concluded.
