With this win, Multan Sultans earned two points but still remain at the bottom of the PSL 10 points table
Multan Sultans registered their first win of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 with a convincing 33-run victory over Lahore Qalandars at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
After losing their first three matches, the Sultans bounced back strongly thanks to a stunning half-century by Yasir Khan and a three-wicket haul from young pacer Ubaid Shah.
Batting first, Multan posted a massive total of 228 runs for the loss of five wickets. The opening partnership between captain Mohammad Rizwan and Yasir Khan gave the home side a flying start, adding 89 runs in just seven overs. Rizwan scored a quick 32 off 17 balls before being bowled by Asif Afridi.
Yasir Khan was the star of the innings with a brilliant 87 off 44 deliveries, smashing six fours and six sixes. Usman Khan also played a vital role, scoring 39 off 24 balls, while Iftikhar Ahmed’s late fireworks added 40 runs from just 18 balls to boost the total.
In reply, Lahore Qalandars could only manage 195 for 9 in their 20 overs. Despite a solid start with opener Fakhar Zaman, the visitors struggled to maintain momentum. Fakhar played a fiery knock of 32 off 14 balls, but once he was dismissed, the Qalandars kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Sam Billings provided some resistance in the middle with a 43-run knock from 23 balls, including four sixes. Sikandar Raza top-scored with an unbeaten 50 off 27 deliveries, hitting five boundaries and three sixes, but it wasn't enough to take Lahore over the line.
Ubaid Shah led the Sultans’ bowling attack with figures of 3 for 37, while Michael Bracewell and Usama Mir grabbed two wickets each. David Willey and Josh Little also chipped in with a wicket apiece.
This dominant performance gave Multan Sultans their much-needed first win of the season. With the victory, they earned two crucial points but still remain at the bottom of the PSL 10 points table. Meanwhile, Lahore Qalandars, after playing their fourth match, currently sit in third place.
