With this win, Peshawar Zalmi earned two points and currently sit at the fifth of the PSL 10 points table
Peshawar Zalmi secured their first win of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 in emphatic style, defeating Multan Sultans by a massive 120 runs in the ninth match of the tournament.
Teenage fast bowler Ali Raza was the star with the ball, picking up four wickets, helping Zalmi wrap up a dominant performance after a strong show with the bat.
After choosing to bat first, Zalmi had a shaky start as both openers, Saim Ayub and skipper Babar Azam, were dismissed for just 2 runs each. The team was reeling at 5 for 2 in 2.1 overs, but the middle order staged a stunning comeback.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Mohammad Haris launched a counterattack, putting on a quickfire 79-run partnership off just 31 balls. Haris was the aggressor, smashing 45 off 21 balls, with four fours and three sixes, before falling in the eighth over.
Kohler-Cadmore continued the momentum, adding 53 runs with Hussain Talat for the fourth wicket. The English batter brought up his fifty in 28 balls, hitting two fours and five sixes, before being dismissed by Michael Bracewell in the 14th over.
Talat contributed a solid 37 off 29 balls, but it was the explosive late surge from Mitchell Owen and Abdul Samad that pushed Zalmi past the 200-mark. The duo added 73 runs in just 25 balls, lifting the final total to a commanding 227 for 7.
Owen smashed 34 off 15, while Samad was even more destructive with 40 off just 14 balls, hitting four fours and three sixes before falling in the final over.
For Multan, Ubaid Shah, Michael Bracewell, and David Willey each took two wickets, while Iftikhar Ahmed grabbed one.
In response, Multan Sultans crumbled under pressure, with Ali Raza leading the charge for Zalmi with his brilliant four-wicket haul. The Sultans failed to recover from early blows and were bowled out far short of the target, handing Zalmi a huge 120-run victory — their first of the season.
With this win, Peshawar Zalmi earned two points and currently sit at the fifth of the PSL 10 points table. Meanwhile, Multan Sultans find themselves at the bottom after their third match.
