Quetta Gladiators delivered a dominant performance as they defeated Multan Sultans by 10 wickets in the 18th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 at the Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.

Chasing a small target of 90 runs, Quetta’s openers Finn Allen and captain Saud Shakeel gave their team a dream start. Allen went after David Willey in the second over, hitting two sixes and a four, which set the tone for the chase.

Saud supported Allen well, keeping the scoreboard moving with timely boundaries. The pair reached 50 runs in quick time and continued to dominate the bowling. By the end of the powerplay, Quetta had already scored 74 runs without losing a wicket.

The Gladiators completed the chase in just 6.5 overs, winning with a massive 79 balls to spare. Allen remained unbeaten on 45 off 21 balls, while Saud scored 42 not out from just 20 deliveries. Allen finished the match in style, hitting a six off Usama Mir.

This win was historic for Quetta as it was their first-ever 10-wicket victory in PSL history.

Earlier, Multan Sultans had a disastrous start after being asked to bat first. Khurram Shahzad struck early, removing Yasir Khan for 5 and Usman Khan for a duck in the same over. He continued his fiery spell, dismissing Kamran Ghulam (3) and Curtis Campher (4), leaving Multan struggling at 20-4 within the first four overs.

Captain Mohammad Rizwan tried to fight back, but he received little help from the rest of the team. Faheem Ashraf removed Iftikhar Ahmed and Michael Bracewell in quick succession. Mohammad Wasim Jr bowled out David Willey, while Usama Mir and Mohammad Hasnain were both run out due to sharp fielding by Quetta.

Rizwan remained not out at 44, the only notable innings for Multan, before Ubaid Shah was dismissed by Mohammad Wasim. Multan were all out for 89 runs in 17 overs.

Khurram Shahzad was the pick of the bowlers for Quetta, claiming four wickets, while Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Wasim Jr took two wickets each.

With this big win, Quetta Gladiators now sit in second place on the points table with four wins out of six matches.
