Quetta Gladiators claimed their second win of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 with a narrow five-run victory over Karachi Kings at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday.

Chasing a target of 143 runs, Karachi Kings ended their innings at 137-8 despite a strong start. Quetta’s bowlers held their nerve in the final overs to seal a thrilling win.

Karachi’s chase got off to a shaky start when captain David Warner was dismissed for just 4 runs by Mohammad Amir in the opening over. However, Tim Seifert and James Vince quickly took control, putting together a solid 73-run partnership for the second wicket with aggressive stroke play.

The momentum shifted when Quetta skipper Saud Shakeel broke the stand by removing Vince for 30 off 29 balls. Seifert continued to play his shots, scoring a brisk 47 from 26 balls, but was dismissed by Mohammad Wasim Jr. soon after.

Karachi’s middle order collapsed under pressure. Shan Masood struggled once again and was dismissed for 9 off 17 deliveries by Khurram Shahzad. Abrar Ahmed then struck to remove Khushdil Shah for a duck, and Mohammad Nabi was sent back by Amir after scoring just 4.

Khurram Shahzad struck again to dismiss Abbas Afridi for a duck, and Wasim Jr. returned to take Omair Bin Yousuf’s wicket for 11. A late fightback from Hasan Ali, who scored an unbeaten 24 off 13 balls, wasn't enough as Karachi fell short by five runs.

Earlier, Quetta Gladiators had a tough start with the bat. They lost their top-order early to Hasan Ali, and Mark Chapman was removed by Mohammad Nabi, leaving them at 45-4 at the end of the powerplay.

Kusal Mendis tried to steady the innings with a quick 36 off 22 balls, hitting five boundaries, before being dismissed by Abbas Afridi. Mendis had added 25 runs with Hassan Nawaz for the fifth wicket.

Nawaz later teamed up with Faheem Ashraf to build a crucial 59-run partnership. Nawaz scored 35 off 34, while Faheem played a key late-innings knock, making 43 off 27 deliveries. Quetta were eventually bowled out for 142 in 19.3 overs after Khurram Shahzad was run out by Hasan Ali with assistance from wicketkeeper Tim Seifert.

For Karachi Kings, Hasan Ali starred with the ball, taking 3 wickets. Abbas Afridi and Mir Hamza took two each, while Mohammad Nabi and Fawad Ali picked up one wicket apiece.
