The exhibition match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators will be held at Arbab Niaz Stadium on April 8, 2025. This match is a significant step in bringing top-tier cricket back to the region and building excitement ahead of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL X).

The match is part of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) efforts to engage local fans and generate enthusiasm for the upcoming PSL tournament. By organizing this exhibition, the PCB aims to create momentum for PSL X while strengthening its commitment to promoting cricket throughout Pakistan.

This isn't the first time the PCB has arranged an exhibition match before a PSL season. A similar event in 2023, held in Quetta, received a great response, showing the growing interest in cricket across the country. The success of that event played a key role in the decision to bring a high-profile cricket fixture to Peshawar.

Javed Afridi, the owner of Peshawar Zalmi, has been a strong advocate for hosting PSL matches in Peshawar. He had previously urged PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to consider Arbab Niaz Stadium as a venue for PSL 10, and his efforts, along with the PCB's plans, have led to this exhibition match, which promises to be a thrilling experience for local fans.

The 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) will officially begin on Friday, April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United facing two-time winners Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The tournament will feature six teams and a total of 34 matches, running from April 11 to May 18. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host 13 matches, including two Eliminators and the grand final.

In addition to the exhibition match in Peshawar, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will host 11 matches, including the first Qualifier on May 13. Karachi’s National Bank Stadium and Multan Cricket Stadium will each host five matches, with three double-headers scheduled. Two of these will take place on Saturdays, and one will be held on Labour Day (May 1).
