United skipper wants his team to continue their aggressive style of batting
Islamabad United skipper, Shadab Khan, is hoping for a better show from his team against Karachi Kings, after being bowled out for 90 in their last game against Lahore Qalandars.
While replying to a question in a pre-match press conference in Islamabad, the all-rounder said that he is aiming to score the fastest century of this season.
The all-rounder also wants his team to continue their aggressive style of batting without the fear of failure.
“I know that this [batting collapse] can happen when I tell my players to play fearless and aggressive cricket, we need to be patient and support the player if we want them to play without fear of failure,” Shadab said.
“We won’t change our brand of cricket, we will stick to what we have been doing and how we’ve been playing, same brand has produced results for us, but when you are aggressive in your approach then you can lose your wickets too and can face such collapses,” he added.
Kings have lost five games in the season so far, but the United skipper is not ready to underestimate them when the two teams meet on Friday.
“They are good franchise and can still make a comeback. Obviously, when a team is struggling or on a losing streak then it becomes comparatively easy to beat them but we are not complacent. We will have to play our best cricket if we want to beat them,” he said.
