Peshawar Zalmi's captain Babar Azam, attributed his century against Islamabad United in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine to his mother.

Babar, speaking after the game, expressed gratitude for his mother's presence at the match, her first time attending in person. He credited her for bringing him luck as he scored a century.

"My mother came [to watch] for the first time. She's very happy. She enjoyed it. She always watches at home but she proved to be [a source of] good luck for me. She came to watch the match and I scored a hundred,” Babar said.

It is worth noting that Babar's impressive century (111 off 63), supported by Arif Yaqoob's five-wicket haul, propelled Peshawar Zalmi to victory over United by eight runs in the 13th match of PSL 9 on Monday at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

After setting a target of 202 runs, Zalmi effectively defended their total, restricting United to 193/9. This win marks Zalmi's third consecutive win in the tournament.
