Peshawar Zalmi seeks to secure their first Pakistan Super League (PSL) title since 2017 in the upcoming ninth edition. The fanbase has grown with the arrival of star batsman Babar Azam in 2023, who now leads the team as captain.
Under Babar's leadership, Peshawar Zalmi made it to the playoffs in the previous season, where they encountered a defeat against the defending champions, Lahore Qalandars, narrowly missing out on a spot in the final.
In the past eight editions of the HBL PSL, Peshawar Zalmi hold the best record as they have featured in four finals and have at least reached the play-offs on every other occasion. They aim to exhibit their best in future seasons as well, while also looking forward to playing at their home turf one day.
PSL 9 is set to start on February 17 in Lahore and will be hosted across four cities, namely Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. The tournament's culmination will see the final held at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on March 18.
