Former cricketer Mohammad Hafeez expressed his perplexity over the impact of Imad Wasim following a closely contested match between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Speaking on a local sports channel, Hafeez questioned the effectiveness of Imad, who managed to score only 1 run and failed to claim any wickets during the match, raising concerns about his contribution to the team's performance.

"I don't understand Imad's impact at all. As a bowler, as a batsman, he is nowhere in the PSL. There are higher expectations from Imad," said Hafeez.

Furthermore, Hafeez highlighted the dwindling impact of Faheem Ashraf in recent PSL seasons since Faheem like Imad struggled to make an impact in the match, scoring just 1 run and remaining wicketless.

"Faheem's impact seems to have decreased over the past few PSL seasons. The total out-of-form performance of Faheem and Imad is dragging Islamabad United down from a bowling point of view," he further added.

Despite a decent bowling performance from Shadab Khan, who received praise from Hafeez, the former team director pointed out United's tactical errors

"Shadab bowled well, but he shouldn't have saved his over.  Overall, Islamabad is making some very bad tactical errors," he concluded.

It is worth noting that in a thrilling match, Peshawar Zalmi came out victorious against Islamabad United by 8 runs on Monday in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
