The first meeting of the PSL Governing Council, under the new PCB management committee, is scheduled for September 25th.

Given that a significant number of team owners are currently abroad, the meeting will take place through a video conferencing platform. The primary agenda item for discussion is the determination of dates for the forthcoming edition of the league, which remains undecided at this juncture. Furthermore, there is a proposal on the table to host the league in the UAE if general elections occur in the country early next year. However, identifying an appropriate timeframe for conducting the PSL could pose a challenge due to the concurrent presence of various other T20 leagues around the same period next year.

Teams are eager to finalize the schedule as soon as possible. It's worth noting that the Emirates Cricket Board is planning to organize its own league from January 19th to February 18th, potentially affecting the availability of UAE venues for the PSL.

Notably, this meeting marks Zaka Ashraf's first official interaction with the franchise owners, during which pivotal decisions pertaining to the league's future will be deliberated.

It is evident that Zaka Ashraf, the head of the management committee, is not inclined towards expanding the number of teams until the league's tenth edition. The existing franchise owners share this perspective. In recent developments, Sohaib Sheikh has assumed the role of Director of PSL. However, the status of the Commissioner, currently occupied by Naila Bhatti, remains uncertain and awaits clarification.
