According to details, the HBL PSL Governing Council meeting was held in Lahore yesterday and lasted only 23 minutes. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi presided over the meeting, while PCB officials remained in their offices. Franchise owners and representatives joined via video call. The chairman announced the good news that PSL will be established as a separate company, fulfilling a long-standing demand. This move will help in managing affairs more efficiently.
During the meeting, it was revealed that an exhibition match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators will take place in Peshawar on April 8, allowing local fans to see their favorite stars in action. There are also plans to hold PSL matches in Peshawar in the future. Security clearance and planning for the match are expected to be completed by the weekend.
Once the 10th edition of the league concludes, the existing franchise agreements will expire. Before renewing them, an evaluation will be conducted to decide on an increase in franchise fees. The company that will be hired for this task is currently being finalized, and it will also assess the potential price of two new teams in Season 11. The company will be given six weeks to complete the process.
Participants were also informed that the anthem for the 10th edition of PSL is in its final stages. Additionally, there will be no compromise on the TV production quality of the matches. The production company has been instructed to treat the league as an international event rather than a domestic tournament, ensuring that fans watching on TV have the best possible experience.
