Despite a tough season last year, Qasim is confident that the current lineup of the 2020 champions will have a successful run this time around.

He cites a strong team combination as a key factor in their upcoming season.

“The PSL is very important for me, and I eye good performances both with the bat and the ball and will like to help the team record victories. Match-winning performances count as you know a player who performs here goes directly to the Pakistan team,” Qasim told reporters.

Qasim is also thrilled to have the opportunity to share the dressing room with Australian wicket-keeper batsman Matthew Wade and to learn from experienced players like Imran Tahir and Shoaib Malik, who he has previously played with.

He hopes to gain insight from Tahir on adding more variety to his spin bowling.

“Look, bad patches come. This time we have a very good team, and InshaAllah, an effort will be made to play for the team and win matches,” Qasim said.

“Our combination is very good. All are very good players, and this time we will try to play well and play for the team,” said the all-rounder.

With their opening match against Peshawar Zalmi, Qasim is determined to beat his former teammate, Babar Azam, who now leads the opposing team.

“Babar Azam, before this, was in our team, and now he leads Peshawar Zalmi, and we will try to beat them,” Qasim said.

He also recognizes the valuable contributions that experienced players like Mohammad Amir and Shoaib Malik will bring to the team.

“Amir is the most experienced bowler, and Shoaib Malik is an experienced batsman, and the team will benefit from their presence,” he concluded.
