Wasim Jaffer thinks that batting maestro will get back to form in the Super Four Round of Asia Cup
Pakistan captain Babar has not made an impact yet in the 2022 Asia Cup and all eyes will be on him over how he performs in the Super Four Round.
The 27-year-old is ranked No.1 and in order to retain top spot, he must score today against India as his compatriot Rizwan and India's Suryakumar Yadav are also eyeing the No.1 spot.
Meanwhile, former Indian batter Wasim Jaffer thinks that batting maestro will get back to form very soon.
“Babar Azam is at such a stage of his career that his name is included when we speak of the top 4 or 5 cricket in grades in the world," said Jaffer while speaking to CricTracker.
"And at the moment Pakistan's batting revolves around Babar Azam. So yes if a player like Babar Azam is dismissed for low scores consecutively then there is a sense of concern. But he is a quality player and we will surely get to see him in form during the Super Four stage."
Jaffer said Pakistan's top three of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman are dangerous players and India would be hoping to get rid of them quickly.
“A player like Babar Azam cannot be kept out of the game for a long time because he is currently ruling across all formats," he said.
"Pakistan's top 3 are the most dangerous players on the team and India would surely be hoping to get them down early in the game. Their middle order is a little inexperienced and so India will hope that Babar Azam has a failure again."
