Afghanistan's opening batter, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, stated that the pitch in Karachi was completely different from what they had anticipated.

In a conversation during the mixed zone, Gurbaz expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming crowd support in Karachi.

"I would like to thank the crowd for supporting us in such large numbers. We didn’t expect this much crowd support, it felt like we were playing at home," Gurbaz said.

Gurbaz further shared his hopes for the future, saying, "We are hopeful that one day we will play cricket in our own country. The match is there for everyone to see, and we know what mistakes we made."

He also discussed the pitch conditions, saying, "The pitch in Karachi today was completely different from what we expected. We were anticipating a slower wicket, but this was the first time we saw such a wicket in Karachi."

Despite the challenges, Gurbaz remained confident about Afghanistan's prospects, concluding, "Both our bowling and batting are strong. We still have two matches left, and we are looking forward to them."

Afghanistan lost their first match of the tournament on Friday by 107 runs against South Africa.
