Rahul Dravid, the former head coach of the Indian cricket team, received a warm and emotional welcome from young cricketers at a local cricket academy in Bengaluru. The children formed a guard of honour, raising their bats to celebrate India's recent T20 World Cup victory. Dravid, who played a pivotal role in the triumph, was all smiles as he shook hands with the budding talents and the academy's coaching staff.

Dravid's career has been illustrious, debuting internationally in 1996 and playing until 2012. Winning a World Cup as a player remained a dream, but he achieved it as a coach, guiding the Indian team to victory in the T20 World Cup 2024. This win marked a fitting end to his tenure as India's head coach, following previous near-misses in the 2007 World Cup as a captain and the 2023 World Cup as a coach.

In a video shared by the Bengaluru cricket academy, Dravid expressed his joy at being back on the ground and nurturing future cricket stars. He emphasized the importance of developing young talents who aspire to make their mark in Indian cricket.

Dravid's exuberant celebrations during the World Cup victory highlighted the significance of the win. From lifting the trophy with passion to waving at the crowd during the victory parade, Dravid's emotions were on full display.

Rohit Sharma, India's World Cup-winning captain, paid tribute to Dravid in the post-match press conference. He praised Dravid's immense contribution to Indian cricket over the past 20–25 years and expressed his happiness at being able to win the trophy for him.
