The third day of the ongoing four-day match between Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh A has been completely washed out due to persistent rain.
Heavy downpours in the city prevented any play from taking place, resulting in a day where not a single delivery was bowled. The umpires ended the day's play an hour after lunch.
At the end of the day, Pakistan Shaheens are in a commanding position with a score of 367 runs for the loss of just four wickets.
This strong performance came in response to Bangladesh A's first innings total of 122 all out.
The standout performer for Pakistan Shaheens was middle-order batter Umar Amin, who delivered a marathon knock of 177 runs. His innings, marked by a blend of patience and aggression, included 23 boundaries and three sixes. Amin’s exceptional batting anchored the innings and set the foundation for a commanding lead.
Skipper Saud Shakeel also played a pivotal role with a well-crafted 76. Shakeel’s innings was crucial in building a formidable partnership with Amin. Together, they forged a 195-run stand for the second wicket, consolidating Pakistan Shaheens' position.
Further strengthening their position, Kamran Ghulam and Saad Khan played solid innings, with Ghulam remaining unbeaten on 20 and Khan notching 31 not out.
Their contributions extended the lead to 245 runs, leaving Pakistan Shaheens in a dominant position as they head into Day 4.
