The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named Rajeev Shukla and Ashish Shelar as its representatives for the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

Shukla, who has previously served as IPL chairman, will now be an Executive Member of the ACC board. Meanwhile, Shelar, a former BCCI treasurer and a key figure in Mumbai Cricket Association, will take on the role of an Ex-Officio Board Member.

These appointments come after Jay Shah’s recent promotion to ICC Chair, which left vacancies in the ACC.

One of the ACC’s immediate tasks is finalizing plans for the upcoming Asia Cup, set for September in the T20 format. Reports suggest that although India is the official host, the tournament will likely take place at a neutral venue due to political tensions between India and Pakistan. Sri Lanka and the UAE are being considered as possible hosts.

Looking ahead, the ACC has scheduled four Asia Cup editions until 2031. The 2025 tournament will have 19 matches, followed by the 2027 edition in Bangladesh with 13 ODI games. The 2029 event will be hosted by Pakistan but played at a neutral venue, while Sri Lanka will host the 2031 Asia Cup in the ODI format with 13 matches.
